In addition to direct services, Mommy’s Heart advocates for family court reforms that promote transparency, uphold constitutional protections, and ensure the system functions as it was intended to protect the best interests of children and families. We believe that a just legal process should be accessible to all, regardless of financial means, and that parents should never be punished for doing the right thing.
Many families have reported being caught in a never-ending cycle of court hearings and legal fees. This has led to countless innocent children being separated from their loving parents and placed in harmful situations, all for the sake of financial gain.
Please read and support our proposed legislation, The Mommy’s Heart Fair and Just Family Court Reform Act for the Protection of Children and Equitable Legal Processes. It was introduced by Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright to the Judiciary Committee as A01154. Senator Cordell Cleare is sponsoring our bill in the Senate S6825, along with Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr. and Senator Ramos. Our legislation is meant to deter abusers, protect survivors, and hinder lawfare.
